Summer Storms

Spring and Summer storms can cause disconnections through something called a power ‘surge’. There’s steps you can take to ensure you’re protected against internet downtime, power surges and unexpected service fees.

Power surges are quick spikes in electrical current. These spikes, caused either by lightning or from your electric provider, will quite often disable your modem. They also overload your appliances, including your equipment from CCI, causing them to break. Your indoor modem is the most likely piece of equipment to be affected by a power spike — but you can easily protect your internet connection!

Protect your internet connection against power surges

To help you reduce your risk of unexpected internet downtime and new modem fees, we strongly advise you to plug your modem’s PoE Cable into a surge protector.

A surge protector stops electronic devices from getting fried by a power surge. If you don’t have your modem equipped with PoE ports yet, we’ve got a high-quality surge protector at an excellent price!

The PRIME Home Entertainment Surge Protector is only $34.99 when bought directly from CCI Wireless. You can order a surge protector by giving us a call, sending an email or a PM on Facebook.

If you aren’t sure your current surge protector is right for your home internet equipment, feel free to get in touch – we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.
