CCI Wireless has announced that Chief Executive Officer Amir Bigloo will depart the company to pursue other opportunities. Bigloo was very influential in the company’s growth over his eight-year tenure as CEO.
“Since almost the very start of CCI, Amir’s guidance and leadership has been instrumental in building CCI Wireless into a leading provider of rural broadband throughout Alberta. The board of CCI Wireless and the employees will miss Amir’s contributions and dedication to the business and wish him the best in future endeavours,” says CCI Wireless Board Chairman Charlie Cutforth.
Some of Bigloo’s accomplishments for CCI include developing strategy, significant fundraising for the then-new wireless network, and cultivating relationships with all three levels of government. Bigloo leaves a strong executive team as his legacy.
“While there is never an ideal time for this type of departure, the team built at CCI Wireless over the past eight years has the strength, savvy and technical knowledge to ensure that the company continues to grow and connect rural Albertans throughout the province,” says Cutforth.
“CCI Wireless is very fortunate to have a talented, focused and motivated team that always strives to put our customers and their communities first,” says outgoing CEO Amir Bigloo. “Our company is a true Alberta success story, built by Albertans to serve Albertans. Our goal is to ensure rural and remote residents and communities have access to the very best Internet technology so that families, small business and civic operations can thrive, and I am confident that with the team in place, CCI Wireless will continue to improve rural connectivity.”
Effective immediately, current Chief Financial Officer Adam Lamont will be serving as interim CEO at CCI Wireless and Amir Bigloo will assist in the transition as required until June 9, 2017.
Any questions about this transition can be directed to Lamont or to Graham Fleet, Director of Sales and Marketing.
