Position Summary:
CCI Wireless (Corridor Communications Inc.) has an opening in our Calgary office for a new member of our Engineering team. With no shortage of rural Albertans who need better internet, we’re recruiting passionate people to be a part of our ever-expanding network.

This is a great opportunity to become an important part of our Engineering team, in role with room for growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring business continuity through planning, implementing, supporting, configuring, controlling, monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting secure system environments.

This position would be of interest to individuals who have a good understanding of server infrastructure, operating systems, applications (ERP and CRM Systems), storage, and virtualization platforms.

Please note that this position has some on-call requirements.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead data center transformations and business applications projects (CRM, ERP, System Integrations)
  • Manage and optimize the overall System Infrastructure as a whole
  • Developing and maintaining an IT/Systems policy for the organization
  • Build and maintain business continuity infrastructure and data recovery capabilities, including system backup validation and administration
  • Design of multi-server virtualization environment including IP address schemes, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc.
  • Manage and maintain all technical aspects of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM/ERP systems (including Field services, Customer portal, asset management and Inventory, Billing, database maintenance
  • Provide support for planning, coordination and execution of software and hardware installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrades
  • Provide support for current and future servers and systems infrastructure by performing backups, upgrades, troubleshooting, deployment and administration.
  • Support system administration tasks, software and hardware support (desktop and server), systems configuration, backups, system monitoring, change management, performance tuning, capacity planning and troubleshooting
  • Maintain virtualization solutions storage systems (VMware and Hyper-V)and associated SAN (EMC, DELL, Nimble)
  • Work collaboratively with end-users to troubleshoot and resolve Dynamics CRM/ERP issues
  • Work with business transformation manager and consultants to plan and execute updates to the system life cycle in line with the Digital Transformation Strategy
  • Define and document system operational procedures and develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Work with vendors for product information, pricing and support
  • Analyze and diagnose problems and implement fixes that resolve them
  • Design and test new services before going commercial
  • Ability to be On-Call to respond to outages in the network
  • Other related duties as required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 -10 years of experience working in systems engineer role in a telecommunications environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications.
  • Master’s degree considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to people worked in managed service or telecommunication environments
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSE) and CCNA certification preferred
  • Expert in Windows (Server 2008/2012) and Unix (Linux, Debian, SunOS), Azure and Dynamics CRM
  • Experience in datacenter design, building and administration and expertise in building hybrid cloud environments based on current VMware infrastructure and Azure
  • Working knowledge of AAA/HSS server, TR-69 server, IPAM, mail servers, Active Directory, DNS, SCOM and Anti-Virus
  • Knowledge of API integrations, scripting tools and database management (MySQL, ORACLE) is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to take ownership of work
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a small business environment.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

The Project Manager will report to the Vice President of Technology Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the detailed planning, coordination, oversight and completion of Engineering and IT projects and activities.

  • Act as the single point of contact and coordinate all aspects of approved projects.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the engineering team members and other departments as required.
  • Identify and manage project risks.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Work with engineering team, obtain specific requirements, plan equipment and resource deployments, develop project scope documentation and create project schedule and timelines.
  • Maintain deliverables through tracking system and request services, as needed, based on scope of work.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation: create, maintain and update schedules and trackers.
  • Prepare budgets and cost estimates for engineering projects planned for prior year.
  • Monitor project costs and controls to ensure that projects stay within budget.
  • Advise clients and management of any project delays or budget changes and provide resolutions or alternate actions, as appropriate.
  • Work with project design leads to define, estimate and negotiate project change orders.
  • Track and manage project schedule and activities for each project work within the Engineering department.
  • Work with the Manager, Network Operations in project managing the engineering projects within this team.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in computer science, telecommunications or a related field.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Five years related project administrator/management experience, preferably in  telecommunication or for an Internet Service Provider.
  • Experience with project management and scheduling software as well as other tools for tracking, reporting and analyzing progress.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with a strong track record of achieving goals and objectives within tight time frames is essential.

RF Engineer

Radio-frequency Engineer at CCI Wireless

Position Summary:
CCI Wireless (Corridor Communications Inc.) has an opening in our Calgary head office for an RF Engineer. With no shortage of rural Albertans who need better internet, we’re recruiting passionate people to be a part of our ever-expanding network.
NOTE: This position has an on-call requirement and significant travel requirements, i.e. 50% travel within Alberta.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The RF Engineer will report to the Manager of Network Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for most of the field work with respect to drive testing, interference analysis using spectrum analyzer, as well as RAN optimization.

  • Responsible for access site congestion reporting.
  • Responsible for RAN parameters tuning and configuration.
  • Work with the RAN vendor expert to test features and collect KPIs to improve cell/site performance.
  • Perform interference analysis (internal and external) using spectrum analyzer in the field.
  • Perform site surveys for access links, when needed.
  • Collect drive test information for new sites and assist with post-processing analysis.
  • Prepare site engineering documents to be reviewed by the (Senior) RF Engineer.
  • Assist with drive test preparation and post-processing analysis.
  • Assist with site RF optimizations.
  • Assist with RF changes in the network.
  • Assist with NOC escalations regarding access site performance.
  • Document processes and procedures.
  • Additional duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Telecommunications.
  • One to three years of practical experience working in telecommunications, preferably in RF (Access Network).
  • Familiarity of RF propagation is required.
  • Experience with RF Optimization is an asset.
  • Experience working with RF planning tools (Mentum Planet, Atoll, TEMS CellPlanner, Mapinfo, etc.) is essential.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications technology (e.g. HSPA, LTE and WiMAX) is preferred.
  • Experience with optimization tools such as Astellia is an asset.
  • Experience working with Huawei or ZTE RAN or other RAN vendor equipment is an asset.
  • Motivated self-starter with a demonstrated willingness and aptitude to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.

Technical Support Agent - Tier 1

Technical Support Agents

Title: Tech Support Agent – Tier 1
Status: Part-time and full-time

Location: Calgary

Position Summary:

CCI Wireless is always looking for talented individuals to join our team Technical Support team. Our Calgary office is home to a full call centre supporting our customers across Alberta.

The successful candidate will be accountable for answering calls from our existing customers. Shifts will vary between 5-8 hours for a minimum of 20 hours/week to Maximum of 40 hours/week. You must be available from 7 am to midnight, Monday to Friday, and 8 am to 5 pm on weekends, for various shifts, most importantly evenings, weekends and statutory holidays. Bilingualism is an asset. CCI will provide full training on our services.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and Technical Support to customers – the customer experience comes first!
  • Providing knowledgeable troubleshooting guidance to customers, specifically concerning internet and VOIP issues
  • Appropriately documenting customer interactions and troubleshooting steps taken in ticketing system and escalating service accordingly
  • Performing tests of returned equipment to ensure quality of our units is maintained
  • Follow up with customers when appropriate, specifically on emails sent and voicemails left for customers
  • Provide feedback to leadership team and peers to improve environment
  • Make recommendations to the Manager regarding training and improvement in Technical Support levels
  • Various other duties as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

  • You must have a High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of WIMAX and LTE technology is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with changes and adaptability to changes within call center environment
  • Background in technical troubleshooting of internet service is a strong asset
  • Experience in the telecommunication industry, computer systems, networking, browsers and troubleshooting VOIP and internet service would be considered an asset
  • Completion of CCNA, CompTIA A+ will be considered a strong asset
  • Ability to achieve targets on a consistent basis
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a team atmosphere that promotes individual and team success
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written, to care for customers’ needs and to work effectively in a team
