CCI Wireless has an opening in our Calgary head office for a Network Engineer. With no shortage of rural Albertans who need better internet, we’re recruiting passionate people to be a part of our ever-expanding network.

This position would be of interest to individuals who have strong understanding of Networks and Telecommunications, and who have worked on large-scale network projects.

The NOC Analyst will be responsible for operation piece of the network including but not limited to monitoring, troubleshooting, analyzing, configuring, upgrading, maintaining and implementation.

Your Responsibilities:

Our Network Analysts are on call and do shift work in a 24/7 rotation. Analysts are generally responsible for monitoring the network, implementing network changes, troubleshooting and resolving outages or customer issues, and communicating about the network across several teams.

  • Monitor CCI productions service environment; monitor performance on Backhaul network
  • Troubleshoot and help solve technical issues, network related issues
  • Quickly and decisively determine impact of network outages/changes to customers and pinpoint areas of system issues
  • Provide NOC support for escalated enterprise, business and residential customers – responsible for follow-up and further escalation processes
  • Act as communication center for Operations, Engineering, Customer Care and Technical Support
  • Maintain documentation of network changes and of production environment such as troubleshooting guide, system architecture, relationships and dependencies, infrastructure and network connectivity
  • Make recommendations to Engineering, Field Coordinators, Leadership, to improve overall performance
  • Implement network changes, ensuring no drawback to customers
  • Leverage Engineering, Technical Support team to resolve escalated issues with regards to system/network
  • Update Engineering, Technical Support team with regards to system/network changes, maintenance or outages
  • Monitor the network/alarms to resolve outages or escalate network issues when necessary
  • Other related duties as required.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor degree related to wireless or networking
  • Network Certification or relevant IT certification, such as CCNA, is required
  • Experience working in a Network Operation Center, preferably telecommunication related
  • Experience supporting LTE and WiMAX technology
  • Knowledge of software and tools such as: Intermapper, M2000, LMT, Microsoft Office Suite (in particular Microsoft CRM), TR-69
  • Experience working with vendor support, with regards to opening tickets and escalations
  • Experience working with ticketing systems
  • Experience reporting on network utilization
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with leaders and agents
  • Proven ability to achieve targets on a consistent basis.

Field Operations Coordinator

Your Work at CCI:

CCI Wireless is seeking a Field Operations Coordinator to join our rapidly growing team. With no shortage of rural Albertans who need better internet, we’re recruiting passionate people to be a part of our ever-expanding network. The new team member will be a key point of contact for our operations throughout Central Alberta.

The Field Operations Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance and service of CCI Wireless’ network equipment in the field. You will use your experience to ensure capital projects, break/fix work, and periodic equipment maintenance is completed on schedule, and will perform audits of quality for sub-contractor installations.

This position requires you to travel 80% of the time in the areas surrounding Edmonton, Red Deer and Central Alberta, as well as having availability to be on-call for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare work orders, RFQs, POs, SOWs and bills of material
  • Provide direction to sub-contractors performing work at remote sites
  • Coordinate with Network Operations Centre (NOC) personnel to ensure smooth network implementations
  • Audit and maintain quality installation standards at tower sites
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations for equipment deliveries
  • Maintain tower and shelter equipment records and other associated documentation
  • Install, repair, configure and test network equipment for break/fix situations, as required
  • Other related duties as required.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Lead Field Technician – Wireless ISP experience considered an asset
  • Diploma or Bachelor degree related to Wireless or Telecom, OR equivalent experience
  • Previous experience independently working in the field and thriving in a fast paced environment; self-motivated and able to prioritize and organize workloads with little direction
  • Able to travel 80% of the time – Clean Driver’s Abstract required
  • Experience related to towers/telecommunications installation and support and related quality standards
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with a strong track record of achieving goals and objectives within tight time frames
  • Broad technical knowledge of wireless and networking equipment and DC power
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to create, maintain and update schedules and trackers
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines on a timely basis
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients
  • Strong sense of ownership and instinct for quality work.

Your Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will be responsible for detailed planning and coordinating aspects of wireless site design, vendor management, site visits, client meetings, contract administration, coordination of preliminary and detailed design packages for wireless and telecommunications projects, as well as the coordination of cellular infrastructure deployment projects.

  • Handling all aspects of project serving as the single point of contact for all client interactions
  • Identifying and managing project risks, developing risk mitigation plans
  • Visiting sites, obtaining specific requirements, planning equipment deployments, and developing scope documentation
  • Maintaining deliverables through tracking system
  • Requesting services as needed based on scope of work
  • Processing project invoices and ensure invoices are paid promptly
  • Administrating contracts
  • Advising clients and management of any project delays or budget changes and provide resolutions or alternate actions as required
  • Preparing budgets and cost estimates for site development, while monitoring project costs and controls to ensure that projects stay within budget
  • Working with project design leads in defining, estimating and negotiating project change orders
  • Responsible for all financial aspects of the project

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management (Industry-specific experience an asset)
  • Diploma or Bachelor degree related to Wireless or Telecom or equivalent experience
  • PMP designation considered an asset
  • Experience related to towers/telecommunications industry
  • Experience with project management and scheduling software and other tools for tracking, reporting and analyzing progress
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with a strong track record of achieving goals and objectives within tight time frames
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills for client relationship building and understanding client needs
  • Strong sense of ownership required for project completion

Your Work at CCI:

CCI Wireless is always looking for talented individuals to join our team Technical Support team. Our Calgary office is home to a full call centre supporting our customers across Alberta.

The successful candidate will be accountable for answering calls from our existing customers. Shifts will vary between 5-8 hours for a minimum of 20 hours/week to Maximum of 40 hours/week. You must be available from 7 am to midnight, Monday to Friday, and 8 am to 5 pm on weekends, for various shifts, most importantly evenings, weekends and statutory holidays. Bilingualism is an asset. CCI will provide full training on our services.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and Technical Support to customers – the customer experience comes first!
  • Providing knowledgeable troubleshooting guidance to customers, specifically concerning internet and VOIP issues
  • Appropriately documenting customer interactions and troubleshooting steps taken in ticketing system and escalating service accordingly
  • Performing tests of returned equipment to ensure quality of our units is maintained
  • Follow up with customers when appropriate, specifically on emails sent and voicemails left for customers
  • Provide feedback to leadership team and peers to improve environment
  • Make recommendations to the Manager regarding training and improvement in Technical Support levels
  • Various other duties as needed

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • You must have a High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of WIMAX and LTE technology is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with changes and adaptability to changes within call center environment
  • Background in technical troubleshooting of internet service is a strong asset
  • Experience in the telecommunication industry, computer systems, networking, browsers and troubleshooting VOIP and internet service would be considered an asset
  • Completion of CCNA, CompTIA A+ will be considered a strong asset
  • Ability to achieve targets on a consistent basis
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a team atmosphere that promotes individual and team success
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written, to care for customers’ needs and to work effectively in a team
